Fixed Blade Knives are also called sheath knives. There are two basic
categories: FULL TANG where the steel is the full width of the handle
and has a set of scales on it. The other type is NARROW TANG where
the handle steel is hidden, going down through the center of the handle.
Almost all of my knives are now made with S30V steel due to its
superior edge holding characteristics. However, I still make a few
using 440C and ATS 34 stainless steels.
I began making fixed blade knives in 1978 and later, in 1994 started
making folding knives. The fixed blade knives I make are mostly
traditional hunters, skinners, capers, camp knives and bowies using
exotic hardwoods, ivories and stag on the handles.
Occasionally I take on an art project with an exotic or classic
design with carved ivory or stag handles.
I am very careful to make sure the fit and finish on each knife is as
close to perfect as I can make it. They are extremely sharp when I
